Whimsy Rose

It is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers. Today the challenge is a loose, or whimsy Rose. I wanted my strokes to be thicker, but they had another plan.

We are watching this video for guidance today.

I decided to keep it easy and used only two colours. The Rose is done in Quinacridone Pink and the simple leaves are done using Jadite Green Genuine.

My paper is Arches 140lb. cold press watercolour paper, and my card base is a deep pink is from Gina K. Design called Passionate Pink.

My brushes are Escoda #6 for the leaves and a #8 for the flowers. I needed to apply more pressure to the flowers, but they work like this as well.

The stamp is from Avery Elle, which I stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne for a birthday.

This is an easy and fun watercolour if you are thinking about giving it a try. You can of course do smaller flowers, the design is up to you as are the colours.
