Heading Into Fall

Tuesday, 25 August 2015

The colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers today was to use gold metallic and vanilla. I made this fall scene, and really like the look of the tree done in the metallic. I propped the tree on foam dots and used glossy accents to glue the leaves an pumpkins. To decorate the pumpkins I used a Krylon Metallic Pen ... something I want to do for my fall table this year, only with metallic paints.  Thanks for having a look.
Products used: Impression Obsession Bare Tree, Oak Leaves and Pumpkin Patch, Memory Box Butterfly Delights.

Live Love Laugh

Sunday, 23 August 2015

I am hostessing my first Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers tomorrow, and this is my card for the challenge, which I called Tag It. You can view the challenge here if you like. I decided I wanted a different kind of tag on my card, so I used Frantic Stamper's Bold Live Love Laugh - and cut it in a Bold colour. It is on foam dots, as is my tag. I coloured a few of the Hearts from the docrafts embossing folder called Falling Hearts and added my faves, sequins and a pretty ribbon. I have someone in mind for this card, she is in need of some brightness for a change, she gives so much to those around her and has been a true and constant friend to me. Thanks for looking .... I hope you like it.

Floral Smile

Saturday, 22 August 2015

For this card I was messing around with some inks and did this background, which I like very much. I used, a bit of pink, a bit of marigold and a bit of straw in there, first stamping with embossing ink and embossed with white powder. Then I sponged on the colours and the results are very soft. I die cut a tag in vellum and hand stitched it on the background. Added the flourish, some tiny flowers and a border behind the vellum, along with the Smile sentiment. Some liquid pearls, sequins and a gem to finish. Thanks for having a look.
Products Used: IndigoBlu Honeycomb Background Stamp, Die-Namics Leafy Flourish, Cheery Lynn Sentiment, Hero Arts Tags, Fiskar Border Punch, Neat and Tangled Sequins, Embroidery Thread, Ranger Embossing Ink and Embossing Powder.

Lets Get Shabby

Friday, 21 August 2015

Another card from the Dares to Get Dirty Challenges at splitcoaststampers done for the Shabby challenge. I have a Zutter that makes distressing of the edges easy. I gathered the flowers and attached to the background, which is embossed using Cuttlebug's Distressed Stripes, using Glossy Accents. I added in some cheesecloth bits, florists wire twirls, lace, ribbon flowers and made a large bow to finish and highlight the flower bouquet. Some butterflies, the Memory Box Woodland Branch die, Joy Crafts Circles Squares Hearts and Kaiser Pearls to finish. Thanks for having a look ...

With Love

Wednesday, 19 August 2015

Another card that I did for the Dare to Get Dirty week of challenges. For the heart background I inked up the Simon Says Stamp Drawn Hearts stamp using TH Distress Inks and spritzed with water before stamping. The Swans are from Frantic Stamper. I traced the outline of the die for the background and added ink with a wet paint brush to get the watercolour look which I thought would be a soft background for the swans and attached it on foam dots. Added the flower spray, the Dee's Distinctively With Love Sentiment, which I shadowed in the pink and some sequins to finish. I used American Crafts paper for the card as I really wanted the texture. Flower Smiles

Tuesday, 18 August 2015

This is another card from the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges held at The background embossing folder is Cuttlesbug Swiss Dots, an oldie but goodie and the front embossing folder is Marianne Designs Leaf, which comes with the matching die that I used for the leaves. I cut the leaves in vellum and coloured with TH Distress Inks Salty Ocean. Added some Bo-Bunny Gems on some of the leaves and the stacked flowers. The sentiment is Cheery Lynn Designs. I very much like the orange and blue together and hope you do as well. Thanks for looking ...

For You

Monday, 17 August 2015

I am now on the Design Team for the Clean and Simple Challenges at which are on Monday's. This is for the challenge from today. I coloured the little birdies with Chameleon Markers, which I love and watercoloured a bit using the ink from a Docraft Marker mixed with water. The background embossing folder is from Tim Holtz called Woodgrain and the scallop dies are from Spellbinders called Big Scallop Circles Small. The image is For the Birds, a digital image from Tiddlyinks. I wrote in the For You sentiment on the banners. This is such fun to colour. And, as you all know, I added my faves, sequins. I think this image could be used for so many things, birthdays, general cards - it is just sweet.  Thanks for looking ...

Enjoy the Flowers

Friday, 14 August 2015

A card using Frantic Stampers Lilac Mix n Match floral die and Frantic Stamper Enjoy sentiment die. The flowers are on foam dots, as is the Impression Obsession frame. Usually I colour my flowers, but I ran out of time today. I need to find some other leaf embossing folders as I very much like the look when I do a floral card. This Embossing Folder is by Ecstasy Crafts called Leaves.  Thanks for having a peek ...

Heart Hugs

Tuesday, 11 August 2015

It has been a very busy couple of weeks. The Dirty Girl Alumni put on a massive challenge for newcomers, doing 5 - 6 challenges per day for 7 days. This is one of the cards I did, the challenge was to use a product called Perfect Pearls and water to make a background. Like in so many situation, when you don't have a product, improvise - and that is what I did. I used Viva Decor Inka Gold Lavared. The best way to explain Viva Decor is to compare it to floor wax, only this has colour. I dug some out and dropped it into a small spritzer and mixed with a small amount of water. Shake it good like a cocktail ... and a magical ink is made! I first did my background using TH Distress Paints and water, sprayed on a white linen paint for the dots, then sprayed the back of a stencil with the Viva Decor I made and put it down on my background. This is what I got. The stencil has the heart shapes you can see. I added my faves, sequins and a Heart Flower Die that I double and styled. A sentiment and twine to finish. This was so much fun to make - something I want to try again. I will load more of the cards I made for the challenges in the next week.
Products: Simon Says Stamp Building Hearts Stencil, Simon Says Heart Flowers,  Frantic Stamper Accessory Words 3.

Shaker Enjoy

Saturday, 1 August 2015

This is my "Poor Ladies Shaker" Enjoy card. I say that as I used a plastic mini Ziploc bag as my shaker component. Shaker components are expensive in my humble opinion, so I did the next best thing. I get these bags when I purchase sequins, so no waste for me! I had fun making this, and hope you enjoy it. The embossing folder is Ecstasy Craft Leaves and the sentiment is Cheery Lynn. Thanks for looking ...
