Designer Pumpkins

Monday, 28 September 2015

I had these pumpkins on my desk and my gold leaf pen and I remember always wanting to decorate a pumpkin like this for my fall table in real life!! Never managed to do it, so I did it on my card instead. My pumpkins are dipped and the wheat is heat embossed with gold embossing powder then the I matted the edges of the wheat panel with the leaf pen. Die cut the leaf border and painted in the gold. The pumpkins are on foam dots and the panel is on foam strips and yes, sequins to finish!! Thanks for looking ...

Autumn Glow

Saturday, 26 September 2015

Autumn is my favourite time of year, so I love making cards for this time of year. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I celebrate Autumn/Fall. Today for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers we had a visit to Osnat Fine Art. I was inspired by this painting, and I was in the mood to play with my Viva Decor Inka Gold paints. Below I show the layering I did with the stencil. To get the turquoise colour I mixed the blue and gold and added a bit of water then sponged it on the card. I added some of the red and more gold, buffing each after applying. I die cut the tree in metallic gold paper and applied on foam dots, then added sequins to finish. I hope you like it and thanks for having a look.

This is the Tim Holtz stencil I used and here I am applying the first layers of inks, the steelblue and then the gold.

My recipe showing the Inka Gold products, the Tim Holtz stencil, Impression Obsession Bare Tree die, the water spritzer, sequins and the metallic paper along with the Bazzill paper, and my finished card.

Fallen Leaf

Friday, 25 September 2015

I painted this image using markers, i.e. scribble the marker colour on an acrylic block and pick up with a damp paint brush and adding water when I wanted the colour lighter. I think the next time I do this image I will make the colours deeper, so I will use my Winsor Newton water colour paints. I used watercolour paper for the card base and added the matting, sentiment and sequins. Thanks for looking ....

Summer's End Iris

Wednesday, 23 September 2015

I coloured this stamp with markers then spritzed my watercolour paper and stamped the image. I liked the look so kept it fairly simple distressing the edges of the paper and mounting on coordinating cardstock. I added the sentiment and a few sequins to finish. Thanks for looking...

Sending Peace and Strength

Tuesday, 15 September 2015

I fell in love with this image from Power Poppy Stamps called Olive and Oak. It dances with the beauty of Autumn for me. The fresh air, the cooler nights, and the colours - Autumn is a magical time of year. I only used my Prismacolor Pencils mixed with Gamsol to colour this. As you can see from the picture below, I used a lot of colours to achieve this look, and I added a pop with my matting choices. I added a few sequins (of course) to finish ... thanks for having a look.

I have added my card to these challenges:

My pencils, cardstock and sequins that I used. Yes, I used all those colours - 16 colours I think.

Glorious Autumn

This is my card for the colour challenge at Splitcoaststampers today. The colour palette is below and these colours were just to wonderful to pass up. And, the weather is more agreeable to me, with fall being my favourite time of year. I inked my stamps and spritzed with water before stamping, then stencilled the background in the pumpkin. I added the die cut leaves and sentiment in the cobbler. Thanks for having a look ...

Cherished Fall

Saturday, 12 September 2015

The Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today was a visit to Drinks by H.B. Harvest on Pinterest.  One could spend hours looking at this board with all the beautiful colours. I picked the photo below as my inspiration for this card. The background is stamped using the Ink/Water technique which is to cover the stamp with ink and spritz with water before stamping. I sponged ink on the leaves using TH Distress Inks, as shown in my recipe following. I styled the leaves before gluing them on the branch which flows down the card.  Thanks for having a look today.

A Little Birdie

Monday, 7 September 2015

I can put this card up now. It was a birthday card for a friend in Wales who had his birthday earlier in August. These birds give me a good giggle ... and I think at my age, and at Peter's age, we need all the laughs we can get. I coloured him using Chameleon Markers and used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder which was one of the first embossing folders I ever bought myself way back in 2005. Thanks for having a look. The image is From The Heart Birdbrain Candle.

Heart String

This card I did for the Dare to Get Dirty challenge. It is Clean and Simple using do-Crafts Falling Hearts Embossing Folder, IndigoBlu Splattered Heart Stamp and Frantic Stampers Amour Ribbon Die along with Dee's Distinctively Love from the With Love Sentiment Die, and Sequins to finish. I really like the simplicity of this card, yet it has impact. Hope you like it too. Thanks for having a look.

Caught A Bug

Saturday, 5 September 2015

My final card for today inspired by this cake only this time I kept in clean and simple. The little ladybug makes me smile. I coloured this with Chameleon Markers, added the sentiment and a few sequins - done! The stamp is from Your Next Stamp called Just Sitting Here.

Love Song

I did another card for the inspiration challenge at Splitcoaststampers today. I could not resist this cake so I Cased the Cake, as they say. The squares are double sided foam squares that I mounted inside the frame, which is also on foam strips. I die cut the branches and propped them on a couple of foam dots, styled the birds and placed them on the foam dots. I then added the hearts in red and pink, and pink crystal gems for the birds eyes and finally the glitter. I am not sure what this will be used for, but am thinking it would make a nice Anniversary card or Valentine - in which case I will add a With Love die cut sentiment lower left. This was fun to make ... thanks for having a look.

Mr & Mrs

I had a lady ask if I had any wedding cards made and I did not, so time to remedy that. I did this card for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers which took us to a Pinterest Board all about cakes. I have never seen such beautiful works of art ever, and if you want a place to just lose yourself over morning coffee, have a peek at Cake Board by Johanna Westin - back to my card ... my inspiration is this cake. The background is embossed with a lattice design then the frame is die cut and on foam dots. I added the doily for softness and then my floral arrangement, along with some scattered pearls. The sentiment is done in a water brush font and mounted on foam strips.

eek .....

Tuesday, 1 September 2015

I did this card for the Colour Challenge at Splitcoaststampers which was to use the Purples, Oranges and Green. I knew I wanted to do my Ghost, and as I seem to be on a googly eye kick I decided that is how I would introduce the green. The background paper is actually a free wallpaper that I made into my background paper. The ghost is on foam dots and I of course added some sequins.
Products: Frantic Stamper Large Ghost, Impression Obsession Large Alphabet Typewriter, Spellbinders Card Creators A2 for the frames.

This is the little treat bag that I did for the Clean and Simple Challenge on Monday at Splitcoaststampers using googly eyes again. They are too fun. The idea I saw on Pinterest. Too cute ... It is a mini bag pattern with cut papers that I edged with Tim Holtz Distress Inks for some interest. The wrap is on the front and back of the bag. This makes me have a giggle. I will use it for my neighbour who has 2 dogs named Jessie and Autumn, so Jessie can have this one full of treats and I will make another for Autumn using a bit of sparkle on the lips only because she is a girl dog. Thanks for having a look.
