This is my finished card for the Inspiration Challenge using the inspiration piece below. My card is 5.5 inches square. This card has many layers, to show off the Starfish and stencilled background. For the embossed background, the pattern covered 2 sides of the folder, so I turned the paper to cover all 4 sides with the embossing. I coloured the starfish using Viva Decor Inka Gold Platinum, then styled and attached on foam dots. I added the pearls from Faith around it and part of a Frantic Stamper sentiment in the darker card stock. I shadowed the sentiment with another sentiment in white card stock, then added acrylic glaze to give the sheen finish. Hope you like - thanks for looking.
This is my inspiraton for the challenge today at Splitcoast we visited a Pinterest Board all about placemats. I picked the above inspiration photo for my card.  I admit, I picked it more for the dishes than the napkin - but that is what makes it fun.
In planning my card I got together what I was going to use. The stencilling I did using the Silks. I use the lid to load my sponge, then tap off on a acrylic block so as to not get blobs, and the ink stays fresh on the block so I continue on with my stencilling using and applying to that ink. The Viva Inka-Gold is a very thick paste. Today I used it by loading on my finger and burnishing it onto my starfish.  I love the look, and it adds incredible durability to the paper - which is watercolour paper in this case.  I have also added water to the Viva ink and painted on the colour using brushes, a beautiful look. The pearls were sent to me by my friend Faith in British Columbia, and you will see how fitting they are on my finished card. At this point I had not decided on my sentiment.

Flowers for the Butterflies

For the Inspiration Challenge today at we were sent to a delightful site called The Shabby Cottage. This is my inspiration for my card. The shabby design I love as well as the bright and happy colours.
I stencilled my background using different colour inks to achieve a Ombre look. I added the diamond dies which I sponged heavily with the yellow. The flowers sit on foam dots, as does the fence and the butterflies have Stickles added for sparkle then I added a few gems around the card for sparkle.

Welcome Butterflies

This card I loved making. I have made it in the past for friends and converted it for the season - i.e. in the fall I have set pumpkins around the tree base and used fall colours in the matting. I think it is a fresh card, very pretty to look at, and again could be used for just about any occasion.

This image I coloured using Prisma Pencils. I think the Tulips are so cute in the egg. I used it for Easter, but I think it could easily be a get well or thank you card or a card to say hello.

A spring card today. The layers are embossed with Swiss Dots embossing folder and I stemco;ed TH Distress Inks Twigs gently for the backdrop for the flower, which is styled and attached on foam dots. For further textures I added the ric rac ribbon, some tiny punched flowers with crystal centres, sequins and the bloom sentiment. I really like this look.

Let Yourself Fly

This card is made using different designer papers with the bird also cut in coordinating paper. There is a pale blue ink sponged around the edges of the scalloped circle to highlight the bird. The bird has a gem eye and some sequin stars are also added.

I love these colours together. There are 4 layers of cardstock on the front, with graduating colours. The 4 block square pattern have the flower embossed in white. The embossing creates a lovely shine. The ink is sponged on graduating in colour. There is an embossed base layer and the yellow and white layer is done using a technique known as Embossing Folder Stamping using ink and water. The sentiment is shadowed and the ribbon is satin.
