Butterfly Thoughts

It is Day 8 of the Random Act of Cardness challenges in the Scrap'n Stamp Group Challenge page and the challenge is "embossing". I opted for the paste kind of embossing for my challenge card.

A change of pace from saturated colour to pastels for this card I made for the challenge today. A stencil embossed and inked background in Cracked Pistachio shows off the string of Butterflies by Penny Black.

This is an easy card to make starting with a Neenah 120lb. card base. I inked up the stencil with my Cracked Pistachio Oxide Ink, then placed it on my card front and taped in place, as movement would not be a good thing for this technique.

I then applied Distress Texture Paste in Matte using my palette knife and smoothed out the paste across the card front then removed the stencil and placed it in water while I continued.

Using Hammermill 100lb. card I die cut the Butterfly String in my Gemini Jr., and proceeded to colour using Copic Markers.  I used Pastel markers that when side by side would blend nicely and did 2 coats of each.

Once the background was dry I splattered with Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade and Cracked Pistachio Oxide Inks.

In my mini Misti I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair Ink in Tulip Red.

Using my Stylist tools I styled the butterflies and applied foam squares to the back along with Nuvo Adhesive to the 2 end pieces, affixing to the card front.

For a bit of sparkle I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew to the butterflies and around the card front.

This was a fun card to make and very easy. It has me thinking of spring and hoping it is on the way.
