Cherry Blossom Trees

I am not at all happy with this water colour, but it is what it is. I had to do it in a hurry as I was still on Monday when I remembered ack! it is Tuesday!

I water coloured using Daniel Smith water colours on Arches Cold press water colour paper.

As I was short on time I did a scene using the tree, sky and lawn.

For the sky I used Daniel Smith Manganese Blue for the sky, Opera Pink for the Tree Blossoms, Burnt Umber and Sepia for Tree trunk. For the lawn I used Schmincke Olive. The driveway is Schmincke Venetian Red.

Thank you for joining me today. I wish I had more time to give this watercolour.

See you next time.

  1. The soft washes of Manganese Blue and Opera Pink create such a serene atmosphere—like a quiet spring morning captured in motion. I love how the tree blossoms gently contrast with the earthy trunk and lawn, while the Schmincke Venetian Red driveway subtly anchors the composition. Even in a rush, your instinct for color and placement shines through, giving this watercolor a wistful charm that feels heartfelt and honest.
