Maple Leaf Watercolour

This painting I did for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com. We could pick any leaf we wanted, and being Canadian I picked our beloved Maple Leaf.

For this painting I am using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper. I cannot remember the last time I used this paper, it is really nice to watercolour on.

Two of the edges are deckled edges, guess I did a good job of cutting this paper to have two raw edges left, a bonus!

Once the Maple Leaf was dry I added splatters of Glitter Gloss and splatters of gold watercolour. Not a lot, just enough to add some interest.

By using the red on the leaf I decided this did not need anything further. I sentiment would be nice before I send it out, so I will see about that in due course.
