Thankful

Meet "Thankful".

This card I made for this week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. We are visiting Imagekind.com, or their Pinterest site Imagekind Pinterest.
I love Abstract Art, so that is where I headed when visiting the store. And sure enough I found this piece that inspired me to make my card.

Drawing the flowers was not something I wanted to do as I have these flowers by Altenew that I think worked perfectly for this card. I also have the dies which I used for the bird, but then I cut off the white part too.
In my original Misti I first stamped the flowers that I picked from the set using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne Ink on Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper.

To watercolour I used Daniel Smith watercolours, being Ultramarine Turquoise, Prussian Blue, Green Apatite, Hansa Yellow, Serpentine Genuine, Cascade Green, and Diopside Genuine.
In my Misti I stamped the sentiment by Gina K Designs. I just wanted the "thankful" part, so I taped off the other words before inking up the stamp using the Nocturne Ink.

In looking at the card I felt it was missing something. Well, you know me and birds, how fitting that I stamp a bird using the Nocturne Ink and watercolour using the Daniel Smith Ultramarine Turquoise.
Using the coordinating die I cut out the bird. I did not like the white part showing on the die, so I fussy cut that part off.

To finish this card, which is 4.5x6, I matted using Gina K Design Sea Glass on a Neenah 110lb cardbase.

I very much enjoyed making this card, and  hope you enjoy it as well. Thank you for dropping by for a visit.

See you next time.
