Celebration Birthday

Meet "Celebration Birthday".

This card is for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. I am hosting this week and have picked Caitie Cawley for my inspiration site. My choices for inspiration comes from these bows and these champagne bottle wraps.
I wish I could say I did the alcohol ink background, but I did not. It is digitally designed by ElvishTale on Etsy and called Alcohol Ink Backgrounds. I did not have enough time to make one, which is my own fault.

I sized and cut the card piece to fit a 5.5" card of gold cardstock. For the bows, which I made last night, I applied raspberry alcohol ink and watermelon alcohol ink on glossy card to see what one I would like. As it turned out the raspberry was too dark, but the watermelon was perfect.
Earlier today I die cut the bows from the glossy cardstock. Using my Spellbinder machine, on the plate I arranged the cardstock, then added parchment paper, then the dies facing down and ran it through my machine.

The pieces cut perfectly as you can see, and I did not have an residual ink on my dies.
I added the bows to the card using Art Glitter glue. I then die cut the sentiment using 2 pieces of glossy card in the pink with the top piece being glitter cardstock in gold.

To finish I added a few Studio Katia gold gems, which are beautiful and finish my special card perfectly.
For the inside I stamped a Happy Birthday greeting and added two bows layered together in the pink and gold papers.

It was fun to put together this fancy card, and I am sure my friend will love it.

Thank you for visiting with me today.

See you next time.
