Maple Syrup

This is "Maple Syrup".

I have had this stamp for awhile and meant to do a card sooner! Alas, the fall means squash recipes for me, and Maple Syrup is always part of the deal.
To colour the Beaver, in my mini Misti I stamped the pieces I wanted to use with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then used Copic markers to colour, and for the leaf stenciling I used my new Pigment Craft Inks. So yummy!

Colours for the Beaver are E17, E15, E35, E13 and E51; The Nose is E57; On the cheek and inner ear is R20; The shorts are YR16 and YR18; The syrup bottle is E97 and E99 with YR02 and the Maple Leaf R05 and R14. The bird is Y18, Y15, Y13 and the heart dies are R05 and R20.
The sentiment is stamped with the Fig ink and I went around the sentiment by dipping the edges in the ink on all 4 side. I die cut the tags x 3 to use for my background.

The stencil is A Colorful Life Design from the October release and I used Pigment Craft Inks in Tajaine, Fig and Juniper. For the middle tag I used the Juniper for definition.
To put it all together on my Neenah cardbase I attached the larger tag on the left using foam tape. I glued the two smaller tags together to keep them in place and attached these to my card base using foam tape.

I glued in place the hearts and attached the sentiment on foam strips, with the bird just above on a foam square. I then added a few enamel dots.
To finish using the tag holes I added the bakers twine and tied bows, which gives the feel of tree branches overhead.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you all have a great day.

  1. Kia, I love those stenciled tags and how you used them for your background. I never thought to use more than one tag as a background........such a great idea. Beautiful colors too.
