The Birdhouse

Welcome to "The Birdhouse".

I have made this card for the Scrap'n Stamp Random Act of Cardness event. Today is day 27, meaning it is time to share a card fold.
While perusing youtube one day I watched a video on how to make this card, which is super easy. Below is a picture with instructions for those who prefer written instructions.
Starting with an A2 card, measure 1 1/2 inches from the fold line down the front and back of card on both sides. Fold over each one of the folds to get good folds. Fold the new fold lines to make the centre fold cave in towards the inside of the card, as you can see in the top picture.
In the video they call for designer paper. I don't like buying extra paper, I instead like to make my own designer paper using stencils, which is what I have done here.

Using the Paper Rose Big Bloom stencil along with distress oxide inks in Crackling Campfire, Candied Apple and Twisted Citron, I sponged the colours on until I was happy with the look.

I then sponged on both of the colours to my front card base. On the inside I sponged with Twisted Citron. The "roof: was done using only the Candied Apple.
The inside panel of the card is done using the dots and a few leaves from the stencil. I attached the front panel once the ink was dry.

Moving on I die cut the bird access hole using I then made the frame for the bird hole.

In my mini Misti I stamped the bird using using Memento Ink, then coloured using Copic markers as follows: Breast YR01, YR21, YR02; Feathers E15, E29, YR09; Beak YR23, YR21.
Once all the colouring was done on the bird, I fussy cut the piece, then styled the bird. I then made a perch (circle) using Copics in E15 and E29 and punched it out with my tiny hole punch. I added the bird and perch to the card using foam squares.

This finished my card for today. I am happy with the way it turned out and no doubt I will use this fold again. I hope you have enjoyed today's card as well.
