Stencils and more

Welcome to "A Colorful Life Release Day".

The latest release from A Colorful Life Designs is now available. I did a few cards for the June release as I am now part of their fabulous Design Team.

I thought I would let you know what I have been doing on days I don't send out a blog post, lol!

This card is "Bubble Release".

The card above is done using Bubble Release, which is one of my favourite from the release. Circles of any kind actually. I used distress oxide inks in Salvaged Patina and Cracked Pistachio and added splatters along the turtle and sentiment, which is stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

This is "Fish Border".

The stencil is 6x6, so for my A2 card I just switched up the sides to ink. I used Salvaged Patina and Salty Ocean for this scene, including on the die cut fish. The sentiment is stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.

The two fishes are up on foam squares, and although it does not show up in the picture, the die cut fish and the fish in the stencil have Nuvo Shimmer pen on them, very pretty in real life.

Meet "King Tidal Wave".

I absolutely love this stencil and plan on using it a few times during this month, as I have some other ideas stuck in my head.

I applied distress oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade to the fish, highlighting areas using a makeup eye brush. The sentiment is stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Tulip Red.

This is "Mermaid Crossing".

For the stencil printing I used my gel plate along with distress oxide inks in my absolute favourite colours of Salvaged Patina, Saltwater Taffy and Fossilized Amber.

I did not put down the ink with a plan, just added it here and there. When I do this kind of random inking, I stamp off my ink pad a couple of times in case of cross contamination.

I made several prints, on the positive, one the negative and another, which is the card front background, is done with the piece that I rolled off on. The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze.

This is "Overall Shells".

Guess what colours I used. I just cannot help myself, and have to use them straight away, then I will venture into other colours!

I did the stencilling on the card base and added the framing for dimension. The sentiment is a big stamp from Tim Holtz stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

This is "Curled Wave".

For this I used spray oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean. Once I was done with the spray I held the stencil up, which had a lot of ink on it, and gave it a little shake, which released the drops you see on the card.

I die cut the piece, attaching the background to my card front, and attaching the die cut piece using foam tape. The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Clair ink in Blue Belle.

This is "Nautilus".

It is such a beautiful stencil and so delicate I thought I would keep it that way. I used Saltwater Taffy and Salvaged Patina, once again. It seems to me it was calling for these colours.

The sentiment is a very old one, but I like the saying, it was stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Paradise.
This is "Stormy Waves".

And my last card for today. I stencilled using Salty Ocean, and did the Octopus using Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion and stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Paradise.

I added sequins as bubbles for a bit of sparkle.

This completes the cards that I made for the release. Please visit A Colorful Life Design for many other cards and designs put together by the team.
