Iris Thoughts

This is "Iris Thoughts".

For the month of May I am posting cards that I have designed using the fabulous stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.
For my card today I am using Schmincke watercolours in May Green and Cobalt Turquoise. I love the way these two colours play together.

Using Arches cold press watercolour paper I started at the top of the card with the green and working wet on wet went down the card transitioning to the turquoise half way down. (When I turn the cards away from the window it is hard at times to keep the colour balance).
I fiddled a bit with the colours, but not much as I really liked the look. I failed to mention above that I sprayed the stencil with Pixie Spray to be sure the stencil adhered properly to the paper. When in doubt, do spray, but do it outside please.

I trimmed up the card to fit a mini slimline design and attached the piece to a Neenah card base using foam tape.

Once it was dry I added Midas Shimmer Pen to the flower parts throughout the card. I know, it is very difficult to capture the shimmer in photographs unfortunately.

In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink and a sentiment from one of my Honey Bee stamp sets called Modern Spring.
This was such a fun card to do, and easy as long as you control your water. I do hope you have enjoyed this post today as well.

Thank you for joining me. Following are Affiliate links for the products I have used for this card, at no additional cost to you.
