On to my card for today.

One of my favourite dies to use at this time of year is the Santa Hat. There is a large and small, and I this is the large.
I decided I would use my Stars background stamp to start, heat embossing using white embossing powder.

I wanted a Red sky - yes, I know red is not a normal colour for the sky, but in Santa's world I think it is! Using my blending brushes and distress inks in Barn Door, Candied Apple, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany, I added the layers of colour.
I kept it light in the area where I wanted the hat to be.

Once I had applied all the colour, and was happy with the look I buffed the piece to brighten the background and stars.
I then die cut the hat from white card and coloured it using my brush along with Barn Door distress ink. For the fur and pompom I applied a layer of Nuvo Glitter Pen, which has a beautiful sparkle to it.

I then attached the red panel to my white card base using foam tape, then added the hat, using foam squares.
To finish up I die cut the letters for my sentiment from white card and glued them to my card.

This was such a fun card to make, especially with the red sky!
Following is a list of those participating in today's hop, with Laura Fulcher up next.
