Sometimes we get so busy with the newly released stamps that we forget about our old favourites. The Impression Obsession team has set aside a day this month to share some new projects using some great older stamps. You can see the list of today's participants on the Impression Obsession Blog.
I have wanted to paint up this beautiful rose for a bit now, and today is the perfect day.
In my mini Misti I stamped the floral image using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.
I water coloured using one colour for the roses, that being Daniel Smith Hansa Yellow, in several layers. I started out with a lighter palette and worked up to the deeper shade of the yellow.
For the leaves I started with Jadite Genuine, added in some Cascade Green and shadowed with full strength Green Apatite Genuine. For the stems I used a couple of layers of Sap Green.
I then ran the image through my Scan'n Cut to fussy cut, which makes cutting stamps without dies so easy. For the background I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I added stencil work using the stencil I used on yesterday's card from A Colorful Life along with Tumbled Glass distress ink.
To finish I stamped the sentiment using a Wendy Vecchi ink called Cornflower Blue.
Thank you for dropping by today. I hope you have enjoyed this card, and attach Affiliate links for the products I used, at no extra cost to you.
Love these gorgeous yellow roses.
