Scrap'n Stamp Polka Hop

Easter Blessings to all.

It is that time of month when the design team at Scrap'n Stamp start planning our hop for the month. Yes, it is Easter, but we are not bunny hopping, instead we are Polka hopping. Giggles - too fun!

We have a $50.00 Gift Certificate to the Scrap'n Stamp store for our hop giveaway, so be sure to leave comments on everyone's blog for your chance to win. The more comments you make, the more chances you have to win!

Now on to my card.

Starting with my background I stamped the Easter Egg stamp using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I would be applying Distress Ink via a stencil so I was sure to use an ink that would not smudge.

I have two stencils that have circles, and as you can see one is fairly large and the other, yes that would be fairly small. But it worked for what I wanted. I used Distress Inks in Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Flirty Flamingo, and Kitsch Flamingo to do the polka dots.

Using the same distress inks I did smooshing on the die cut eggs, which are old dies from Spellbinders. They don't make them anymore, but they are my favourite to use as their size is perfect. Once dry I attached the eggs to my card base, gluing down the one on the left, and attaching the one on the right with foam squares.

I then moved on the cutting the Gnomes and accessories. I used Neenah 110lb. card for everything, including the gnomes.

I coloured the die cut pieces with Copic markers using B01 and B12 on the beard. B24 on the hat bottom with a couple of layers of the B12 on the hat top. I used the B12 and B24 on the shoes. For the nose and hands I used E31 and E50, with E23 on the bunny. YR68 and YR18 on the carrot with YG07 for the carrot top. For the egg being held by the Gnome I used YG01 on the bottom with a mix of YR02 and RV14 for the top.

I finished off with a scattering of gems in coordinating colours.

As I had a lot going on on my card front I opted for my sentiment to go on the inside, which I also decorated with the eggs and the polka dots and a smooshed larger size egg with the sentiment.

This sure was fun to make and I hope you have enjoyed it as well. Next up on the hop is Nancy, and following is the list of those participating in today's hop.

  18. I like keeping my sentiment for the inside too, especially when writing a note too! The eggs look like little vinyets, super cute, especially against that busy background, they soften it so nicely! Sweet card!
