The Journey

This is my sample card for this week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Stacy is hosting the challenge this week and she has picked Tim Holtz Sizzix Pinterest Board for our site this week.

I am not really fussed on Tim Holtz' design look, finding the colours rather dark for my taste. As most of you know, I lean toward bright and happy colours, in case you hadn't noticed! giggles

So when I was perusing the site and saw this card I did not go any further. The colours shouted at me, pick me. I had previously made this background and decided it would be perfect for my card.

I used Ken Oliver Color Burst powders for this background in Fuchsia and Lemon Yellow along with Tonic watercolour card. I love how I got the orange from the colours mixing, so pretty. Once dry I sprayed the piece using a mixture of Perfect Pearls in Sunflower Sparkle and water.

I attached the background to a Neenah card base. I then die cut the vellum shadow piece and the top part of the dragonfly using the Tonic card again which I then painted using the Gold from the Gansai Gem watercolour set.

I styled the top dragonfly and used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to attach both pieces in place.

I then attached a few Gold Sparkle Crystals to finish my card. I decided against a sentiment as I am not sure what I will use the card for as of yet.

I wish you could see the sparkle when I tip the card, it is so pretty. I am pleased with how this turned out and hope you enjoy it as well.
