Sending Hugs

While looking for a stamp set this stamp set kept falling out of the pile landing on the floor. This happened 4 times, and finally I threw it on my desk as it had to be saying "paint me".

I was in the middle of doing other things, but I thought why not just make this an easy card.

Using Arches watercolour card I stamped my image in my mini Misti using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne and proceeded to watercolour.

I am using Daniel Smith watercolours along with a colour from Roman Szmal watercolours which is also known  as Hansa Yellow, but it is more orange than yellow. The colours from Daniel Smith are Hansa Yellow Medium, Quinacridone Pink, Pyrrol Scarlet and from Szmal Hansa Yellow Deep.

The differences are in the pigment used to make the colour. The Daniel Smith is Hansa Yellow Medium and uses PY97 which is Yellow with a whisper of Orange. The Roman Szmal watercolour is Hansa Yellow Deep and uses PY65. Daniel Smith does make a Hansa Yellow Deep using Pigment PY65 but it does not have the same intensity as the Roman Szmal. Here is a swatch picture of ease of reference and I love them both!

I then fussy cut the top part of the stamped image, leaving the balance in black and white and the bottom a straight cut for the card bottom. I attached the piece with foam squares under the top cut out portion with it attached to the cardstock at the bottom via tape.

My cardstock is from Gina K Design in Wild Dandelion for the matting and the base in Black Onyx. To finish my card I stamped the sentiment using the Nocturne Ink and added a few sequin along with some Nuvo Shimmering Pen in Midas Touch to the flower centres.

It is always fun to paint florals, and this was a happy pick me up for me.

Thank you for visiting today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I have used on this card, at no extra cost to you.
