You Shine Two

This is done freehand, which is something I rarely do. I think I have only done freehand once before, when I made this card using watercolour paints some time ago.

There are certain artists that I subscribe to on YouTube whom I really enjoy. One is CreationsCeeCee. I bought this digital image from her to make this card using Prismacolor Premier Pencils. I used similar colours to hers as they worked so well. I gave the card to a friend who was moving to a new neighbourhood, which the card was perfect for.

Why am I telling you this you ask? CreationsCeeCee is our pick for Watercolour Wednesday's video this week. We are asking for participants to make their own kind of Wet-to-Wet Loose Watercolour.

And she is a fellow Canadian too!

And, as you can see with my card I did leaves as well, but threw in some flowers too. I loved the way CeeCee used the gold so I too added gold via a few of the leaves along with some sprays in gold and the other colours I used.

I can't tell you how much fun I had doing this card and I have little doubt I will play around again. I used Daniel Smith watercolours for my card. It has been a slow process for me in my collecting of Daniel Smith colours. I have spent countless hours researching and looking at the colours available. Needless to say, I can't have them all, so I have selected colours from each of the colour categories and made my palettes accordingly.

I will share this with you in the future. But for now, the colours I used are Hansa Yellow Medium, Cascade Green, Jadite Genuine, Green Apatite Genuine, Hookers Green and Pyrrol Scarlet for my flowers. Once finishing with the painting I added splatters using the Green Apatite Genuine, which is a dark colour.

I then stamped the sentiment, which is from Altenew, and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Many thanks for joining me today. I hope you might give this technique a try if you are into watercolouring. It was a lot of fun. Be sure to watch CeeCee's video for the wealth of information she will show you.
