Spring Bloom

Hello! Back today with this floral card which I did as my sample or the Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week.

This week the Stampin Up colours are:
being Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade.

The colours are based on Stampin Up colours, which I do not have, so I use colours as close as I can. In this case I have used my water colour palette paints.
I am also out of Navy, so I used the next colour closest, using it on the bird, the spring sentiment die and the pearl.

I started this card by stamping and masking the flowers, using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. I stamped the flowers on photocopy paper and fussy cut for the masks. I then painted the flowers until I was happy with their look, and once dry I die cut the panel with my Penny Black Elegant Stitching Die and attached to the blue base.
I initially thought I would use the deep blue card stock for my sentiment, but I did not like the look with the die cut sentiment, so I opted to use the glitter card stock instead. I went around the edges of the gold banner with Gold Wink of Stella, as I don't like the white edges.
As I used the gold glitter for the banner I decided on the gold and red glitter card stock for the "bloom" sentiment die cut. I die cut the "spring" sentiment in the water colour paper and painted in the blue using my Nuvo Aqua Flow brush in Azure Blue. I added a white pearl, and coloured it with a blue Sharpie.

I painted the bird with the Nuvo Azure colour as well, then added Wink of Stella over the bird, which moved the blue ink across the ivory part of the blue, which I really liked.
This is my video for this card.
I hope you have enjoyed this card today, and would like to thank you for visiting.
