Sending you Love

I am back with you today to share a card I did for Scrap'n Stamp.ca
I am using a Penny Black Stamp called Effulgent, which means brilliant, shining brightly, radiant. So I used bright radiant colours for fall, being Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers in Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed and Festive Berries, along with Gathered Twigs and Forest Moss for the branches.
This stamp is one of the Penny Black Brushstroke series of stamps, that makes colouring with markers a breeze and a lot of fun.
I add the colour and spritz lightly with water before stamping, which can change to no spritzing, depending on what I think is needed. I then smooth out the stamping with my watercolour brush.
I used the same technique to do the branch for the inside of the card as well, except for not adding the Festive Berries, which kept it lighter.
I stamped my sentiment using Ranger Archival in Sepia, on the front, and die cut the smile sentiment from Copper Glitter paper.

I hope you have enjoyed this card. You can find many more Penny Black products at Scrap'n Stamp.

  2. I love the gorgeous rich fall colors you chose, Kia! The design is wonderful, and the way you stamped with the marker ink and spritz of water brings the flowers to life. The panel inside could be the front panel of another card!! Hideko xx

  4. I saw your card on SCS and just HAD to take a look at your blog posting. I read some hints on how you color using TH distress markers, I have some but really haven't played with them, which is silly, considering what is possible from what I see here--WOW!!! This is by far the most beautiful artwork I've seen on a card in a long time, and I've seen some really amazing cards with wonderful coloring. Your work really inspires me, and I am beyond impressed and amazed with your artistry. Your card is now in my favorites, and as I said on SCS, if I had a favorites plus plus plus category, your card would most definitely be in there!!!

It is my hope to start a blog in the next several months--I am working on reorganizing my craft room, when I finish, I hope to start a blog... Thank you so much for sharing your considerable artistry!!!

    Blessings and best wishes,

    Joanne (905lovestostamp)
