Smile Big

Smile Big is the sample I made for today's CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers, which was "Citrus". These colours, being Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber remind me of some of our citrus fruits. Also, the squeezed lemonade has a green tone to it, which is perfect for the challenge
as well.
I first stencilled my Neenah card base using the fossilized amber, and an old Memory Box Stencil called Rings and Bubbles. You can never go wrong with investing in stencils, as even when you cannot buy them anymore, they can still be used in so many ways.
On another piece of Neenah cardstock, I stamped the circle stamp and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then sponged on some of the amber, and cleaned the circle with water to brighten up the embossing, then die cut it with the coordinating circle die. While die cutting, I also did the panel along with a couple of butterflies. On the rectangle panel I sponged on the lemonade and spiced marmalade, attaching the panel to my card base using fun foam. I considered a few sequins, but I wanted to keep the panel clean, so I resisted the temptation to add anything further.
Thanks so much for visiting today ... I will see you next time.

  2. Oh, I love this card, Kia! The background stenciling is perfect, the sponging on the front panel is so smooth, and the layout (butterflies, circle sentiment) is well balanced. Love the citrus color combo too. Hideko xx
