My Sweet Petunia and Technique Tuesday Hop

Now, back to the cards I made for today.

I was having so much fun, I got a bit carried away making cards. This was my first one, a birthday card for a young one. 

 I started by sponging on distress oxide inks in some of my favourite colours, then flicked on a  bit of water. I die cut the Numbers die using Neenah cardstock in white. 

 In my mini Misti, on a piece of Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper I stamped the bird and painted using the distress ink colours I used for the background, adding in a bit of green in the spectacles and tumbled glass around the eyes. I then fussy cut the bird. 

 I die cut the label and stamped the sentiment, then put the front of the card together by attaching the numbers using foam dots. I glued on the label, then styled and attached the bird on foam dots, competing with a few dew drops, along with white gel pen to the wings of the bird, and some Wink of Stella to the spectacles. 

 For the inside I die cut a panel, taping off and sponged an area matching the front of the card. I cut another label and in my mini Misti stamped the birthday sentiment.

I did the 2nd and 3rd cards at the same time, doing another distress oxide background, this time using Shaded Lilac, Faded Jeans and Broken China. On the 2nd card in my mini Misti I stamped the Lucky Owl image, then painted using distress inks matching the ones I used for the background, adding in the Wilted Violet. I cut the background panel, and in my mini Misti stamped the Smile sentiment, then attached the panel to a lilac card base using fun foam. I styled and added the Owl to the panel using foam dots, then added a few gum drops to finish my card. 
For the 3rd card I used the same distress oxide colours, but in a different order, along with one of Technique Tuesday's Digital Stand Alone Cut Files and my ScanNCut to make an easy card. I got inky fingers by squeezing out some of the juice from my glitter marker to add to the hello die. I attached the hello using cut foam squares. I show the bristle brush in the collage which I use to add ink to my panels.

These are my completed cards.

And, finally, my fourth card.

This time I used Distress Oxide's in Broken China, Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet. To blend the inks nicely I spritzed the panel with water and heat dried. It softens the blending, which I wanted for this card. I then used my lattice stencil, spritzing with water and using a paper towel to soak up the extra water. Again, as with the blending, I wanted the lattice to be subtle. In my mini Misti I stamped using the Dandelion Stamp with jet black ink, then stamped again with Versamark and heat embossed with Nuvo Crystal Embossing Powder. I then stamped the sentiment and die cut the panel. 

I did the same technique for the inside, but added another layer of matting. The card base is a deep purple.
