A bit of my process

I am in the process here of making a card for a very sweet craft friend who needs some hugs. All I knew when I started what that I wanted to stencil a heart and I wanted a cat, so that was my starting point. I made my stencil using the negative from a die cut using a Spellbinders Nested Hearts. To stencil I used Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick. I played around with the placement of my heart and made 2 backgrounds while I was at it. I also made the same hearts for the inside of both cards. The sentiment is stamped using Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy. I die cut and styled the cat and attached on a foam dot, along with some hearts that I coloured with Spectrum Noir Markers. I think it is sweet that the kitty is looking up at the hearts which has a special meaning. I added some crystals to finish.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #343

Joining in with Stamping Ground again for the WOYWW. My desk has changed since last week, I am in the midst of making the card to the left for a crafting friend, and making a mess generally. It is that time of year for thank you cards as well, so a busy time - how about U?

Colour Wheel of Life

Monday, 28 December 2015

I did this card for the Clean and Simple Challenge I am hosting at Splitcoaststampers today called Colour Wheel of Life. There is a Colour Wheel and instructions to follow at the challenge describing how to use the wheel. My birthday falls in the Summer Solstice, making my colours Olive, Green and Yellow. I did my background using the Olive and Yellow in a Alcohol Ink Bath. The fishtail tags I coloured in Photoshop using the Olive and Yellow again. I used only touches of the green in the sentiment and the pearls. I love the happy look of this card and hope you do as well. Thanks for having a peek.

Bam, Pow

Sunday, 27 December 2015

A very different direction to share today. Another card I made for a customer, who wanted a birthday card for a friend who even as an adult loves Batman. Giggles, too fun! So, she wanted the card to be about Batman. I cut the bat twice, styled and glued together around the edges wrong sides together to give the bat shape and lightly glued him between two sheets of acetate mounted on foam to give him room to poof! Inside I attached some sequins and gems, as I did on the outside with some black and red gems, and the sentiment. Inside I made the bam, pow part, and one has his birthday greeting. A fun card to make, and a nice change at this time of year. Thanks for having a look.

Many Thanks

This is my card  for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers where we visited a site called Anthropologie. I picked this dinner plate as my inspiration for this card. And it is that time of year when thank you cards are very much in order. I used Viva Decor Inka Gold for the background and sponged on with a damp sponge. I then die cut and embossed the bottom heart and sponged the tiny heart with the ink and finished with the thank you stamp and sequins, gems and pearls. Thanks for having a peak.

Peace at Christmas

Friday, 25 December 2015

Another one of the cards I made for a customer. It does not really show up in the picture, but I used glitter markers on the star and the swirly tree and stickles on the solid tree as well as the sentiment. Thanks for having a look - Merry Christmas to all.

Wednesday, 23 December 2015

Playing along with Stamping Ground Blogspot's WOYWW - this is what is on my desk today. I am making backgrounds for cards still in my head and I have cards finished that need to be walked down to the post - if only it would stop raining. What's on your work desk.

Poinsettia Christmas

Monday, 21 December 2015

I made this for a customer who needed a few last minute cards. Earlier this month I made some of these backgrounds for future use which is done by inking an embossing folder and spritzing with water. I also embossed the background at the same time. I added the centre panel where I heat embossed the snowflakes falling, framed with red cardstock and the border frame. I coloured the Poinsettia with Spectrum Noir markers, and styled before attaching to the card. I then added crystals to the flower centre, and of course sequins, pearls and gems to the card design.  Thanks for having a peek ....

Another Christmas card to share. I love this cabin in the woods stamp for Christmas cards. I wish I was there! This is not a fussy card, I stamped the scene in the middle of the card front in Tim Holtz Barn Door ink, and scored above and below the image then embossing with the snowflakes embossing folder. I added the sentiment, and of course my signature sequins, pearls and a crystal.
Products: Impression Obsession Winter Scene, WPlus9 Studio Lettered Holiday sentiment, Cuttlebug Christmas Borders Embossing Folder.

Cheers to 2016

Saturday, 19 December 2015

I did this card for the Inspiration Challenge today at Splitcoaststampers. We had a visit at a wonderful Pinterest Board all about Buttons. I picked this button as my inspiration. I used Martha Stewart Glitter Markers to colours some of the confetti on the embossing folder, and for the champagne and 2016, which I had to hand write as I don't have any number stamps. I have to remedy that! I added fibre ribbon to the tag which is attached using foam strips. I also added some Stickles to the champagne for the bubbles. Thanks for having a peek ...

Snow many thanks

Friday, 18 December 2015

The Free 4 All challenge at Splitcoaststampers is to use one word, and only one word on our cards. I already had a thank you card in mind, so went with that idea. I embossed my card base using Sizzix Christmas Set. I stamped the Indigoblu Snowflake Lace stamp using Tim Holtz Barn Door and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I added the double layer thanks from the Cuttlebug With Gratitude set, with the bottom done in white card stock and the top I quickly coloured with Spectrum Noir Markers.  And yes, sequins, crystals and pearls. Thanks for having a look ....

Peace at Christmas

Tuesday, 15 December 2015

For this card I used a beautiful Royal Blue Paper for my backdrop, as I wanted to emboss my snowflakes in white embossing powder. I made a frame for my sweet Christmas Tree, which is also styled and on foam dots. I added the Peace sentiment, and shadowed the "ace" portion to stand out against the white tree. And, not to disappoint, my signature sequins, crystals and pearls to finish.

Believe in the Magic

Sunday, 13 December 2015

I did this card for the Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, where trimming the tree is the event of the day. This stamp I have had for a very long time, and it remains one of my faves. I always wanted my tree to be this shape back in the day when I bought live trees. I inked my stamp with Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters and spritzed with water before stamping. I then embossed my base and tree panel and sponged the edges of the tree panel with the shabby shutters. I die cut the Believe sentiment, and sponged shabby shutters on one of the dies and shadowed my white die with it, then added my signature sequins and crystals and added tiny cupped sequins to the tree. Thanks for having a peek.

This card is also for my friend to give to her grandson, again using a stamp from My Favorite Things Jingle All The Way Stamp Set. This time Santa is reading the Naughty or Nice List. lol! I coloured with Chameleon Markers and used Stickles on his beard and hat and fussy cut him. The stamp set comes with the sentiment in the background, but I am lacking a Misti so I stamped the sentiment and scanned it to Photoshop where I could easily colour with the different colours and make digital stamps making it much easier to "stamp" straight! The background for Santa I ran through my Crimper and attached on foam dots.  Thanks for having a peek.
Products: My Favorite Things Jingle All The Way Stamp Set, Spellbinders Standard Circles Small.

I made this for my friend to give her granddaughter for Christmas. I had not used this stamp yet, so it was fun to colour him. He is fussy cut and mounted on foam dots. I used stickles for his beard, and fur trim bits. The paper is digital and comes in pale colours, so I changed it in Photoshop to the pale red for the words, and regular red for the stars behind Santa.

Some tags I made as a small gift to thank someone. The bottom set left is less paints using Jade, Platinum and Gold, middle is Steelblue and Platinum and right is Gold and Platinum. So much fun. I added assorted ribbons and decorated each tag with assorted dies that I have listed below. Thanks for looking.

Birthday Celebration

Tuesday, 8 December 2015

A Birthday Shaker card that I made for a customer, using sequins of different shapes, colours and sizes for the "shake". I coloured the image with Chameleon Markers, and used a Glitter Gold Gel Pen for the candles. The balloons are cut from felt and I added a couple of butterflies with pearl trails.

Fir Thanks

Monday, 7 December 2015

The Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers today, is to use shades of green on your card. I sponged green ink on my snow mound, then embossed the mound. The look I got is a light green coming through the embossing, very faint, but there. I die cut the trees added white gel pen for snow flakes and attached with foam dots.  Die cut the sentiment in the dark green and white, and watercoloured the white sentiment with shades of green. Added some sequins, crystals and pearls to finish off. Thanks for having a peek.

Falling Snowflakes

Saturday, 5 December 2015

A card I made for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers where we had a visit to Vera Bradley - be prepared before going!  I stamped my background with Marianne's Snowflakes Background stamp using Tim Holtz Evergreen Bough and Chipped Sapphire Inks and spritzed with Glimmer Mist, which does not show up very well in the picture. Add Die-Namics Bracket Edge for more interest, and the large and fabulous Simon Says Funky Snowflake die which I sponged with the Evergreen Bough Ink, spritzed with Dylusions White Linen Acrylic paint and it is also spritzed with the Glimmer Mist. Added cupped sequins, regular sequins and gems to finish. Thanks for having a look.

Tuesday, 1 December 2015

Another card for the December Release over at Frantic Stamper, this time using the Stitched Double Fishtail Labels, which I cut in different papers. I added the small Scribble Rose and the sentiment is from the Wedding Wishes Stamp Set. Added some stitching, sequins and gems and pearls to finish. This is one of my favourites I think. Thanks for having a peek. Have a visit at Frantic Stamper and check out all the new dies and stamps in the December Release.

Another card for the Frantic Stamper December Release, again using the Stitched Petal Squares and Stitched Petal Rectangles and the large Scribble Rose as well as the Heart from the Valentine Confetti set released in November. The embossing folder is Swirly Curves from Elizabeth Craft Designs. and of course I added sequins and gems to finish. Thanks for having a peek.

Two Hearts

I really like this card and think it would make a lovely winter wedding card. I made this for the new release from Frantic Stamper, this one using Stitched Petal Squares, which I used for the sentiment and again to make the frame. I also used the new Scribble Roses, the roses on my card are the smaller rose, and I added stickles to the cut edges for sparkle. They are so pretty and I can see many used for them. The stamp set if from the new Wedding Wishes Set, which I embossed with gold embossing powder. The embossing folder is from Sizzix.

Wedding Day Wishes

I made this card for the December Release at Frantic Stamper, using 3 of the new dies and the rubber stamp set called Wedding Wishes. The dies I used are the Engagement RingStitched Petal Squares and Stitched Petal Rectangles, and I love them all.  The engagement ring has a piece of glitter paper behind it for some sparkle and I cut another ring and trimmed off the diamond for the wedding band. The embossing folder is by Crafts Too called Love Hearts. A fun card to make.

Merry Sled

Monday, 30 November 2015

I made this for the Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge is about ornaments, but seeing as I got rid of my big tree and ornaments the last thing I wanted was another ornament. So I did a Christmas Decoration instead. I have had this Basic Grey paper since 2008 - clearly time to use it. I painted the sled with white acrylic paint, then attached the bottom layer of paper and just ran my crafting knife around the edge to get the detail in the paper. I fussy cut the dove, leaves and branches and outlined the doves wing with a glitter marker, and arranged to show off the dove. I added just red sequins, a crystal for the eye and some pearls in the sequins, the Peace cut out and red fibre for the hanger. Thanks for having a peek.

Saturday, 28 November 2015

At Splitcoaststampers the Inspiration Challenge is about our forgotten favourites. I have so many it is hard to keep track. One who always inspires me is Loll Thompson from happylittlestampers. She does the most wonderful backgrounds ever. So I concentrated on my background for this birthday card for a friend whose birthday is in December. She keeps my cards up for a long time, so I wanted to make sure it would look nice through Christmas too, and no, not to worry, she does not follow my blog. I did the background using Viva Decor Inks. As I have mentioned before, they are like a wax, and the outcome is always wonderful. I mixed the Steelblue, Jade and Platinum colours together on my craft sheet keeping them dry and used used a sea sponge to apply to the mixed media paper, which I had spritzed slightly with water to help the wax move around easily. I stenciled using the Platinum then used the Jade and Steelblue for the Bird, which is styled and on foam dots, and used the Platinum for the sentiment. I added some pearls to dot the "i" and a crystal gem for the birds eye. I also added some larger Prima Crystals. The framing is done using the Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basic Dies. Thanks for having a peek.

Products: Spellbinders Card Creator A2 Matting Basics B, Memory Box Whimsy Branch Stencil, Impression Obsession Bird from Love Birds, Simon Says Stamp Wishing sentiment die, Prima Crystals, Kaiser Pearls and Gems.

Bleeding Heart Hugs

Monday, 23 November 2015

I think this would be my favourite card made for Frantic Stamper, which is why I left it for last. I love to style flowers for my cards, which is what I did with these Bleeding Hearts. I coloured the flowers using Chameleon Markers and used my white jelly pen to highlight. I added a few more of the Bleeding Heart flowers at the top - say what, no sequins! But I did add some crystal gems to the flower tips and scattered around the card. The background embossing folder is called from Elizabeth Crafts Design and is called Swirly Curves. I cut the white scallop circle using Spellbinders Big Scallop Circles Small and embossed using the swirly curves folder again. This set again has many uses, whether it be Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or a Birthday. I hope you like it and thanks for having a look.

I had a friend in mind when I made this card. I think she will get a kick out of it. I used the Valentine Confetti Set again, so fun! The background stamp is Simon Says Stamp Drawn Hearts which I inked using Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick and spritzed with water before stamping. The embossing folder is Crafts Too Love Hearts which I sponged with the same ink. The oval dies are from Spellbinders Ovals Small collection. A couple of pearls to finish. Thanks for looking.

Falling Heart Hugs & Kisses

Made for Frantic Stamper, this time using Valentine Confetti  and Heart on a String dies. I added gems to the hearts and the embossing folder is Do-Crafts Falling Hearts. I especially like this card, and again can see many uses for these dies.

Hearts luv and hugs

Another card for Frantic Stamper, this time using Linked Hearts Border and the Valentine Confetti set. I hung the luv from the heart border and attached the hugs sentiment over the heart. Added some sequins and pearls, and used Tattered Lace Trellis Embossing Folder. I also posted previously a Thank you card that I made using the Hearts Border. I can see many uses for these dies. Thanks for having a peek.

A fast card using Frantic Stampers Valentine Confetti Set, which I called Kisses. I set the kisses against Crafts Too Love Hearts Embossing Folder and matted with the red, and added a crystal gem to the lip for a bit of sexy. Thanks for having a peek.
