Stacked Tiles

Meet "Stacked Tiles".

I made this for a birthday card for a guy friend who is having a birthday using Sizzix Thinlet Stacked Tiles dies by Tim Holtz and paper from one paper pack.

In all the time that I have had this set I have never used the tiles like this, so this was fun to put together. I glued the tiles in place, including the ones hanging over the edge, then trimmed off the excess.

Three of the pieces have doubled up stacks for added interest to the overall look. As well there are tiles that have sayings to read.

I also through in a pink saying, that I think the recipient will like, even though it is pink! The arrows and other designs add a lot of extra interest to the overall design of the card.

The card is an A2 design, being 5.5 x 4.25" to give you an idea as the the size of the tiles.

It did take more time than I thought it would however. That was mainly due to the need to add extra hexagons to the overall design.

Certainly, using a paper pad made this easier to complete, as everything matched up for a pleasing look to the hexagons.

I finished off the inside with a few more hexagons along with the Happy Birthday sentiment which is by Scrapbook.com.

I die cut vellum for the sentiment shadow along with the letters that I coloured using Copic makers. The letters have a fun look to them I think!

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card.
