Dancin Penguin

Meet "Dancin' Penguin".

I have used a lot of red for this card, maybe too much? For some reason I was into the red scheme today, so I went all in. I did however add a Gina K Designs black onyx card base, which calms it down a bit.

This sweet Dancin' Penguin is by Spellbinders. His little feet move back and forth as if he is really skating. So cute!

Mind you, he is skating on thin ice on my card as I kept the background done in the Spellbinders Holly and Foliage embossing folder image which I coloured using Pinkfresh Inks.

I used two colours of ink for the background, being Berrylicious and Ballet Slipper over the Berrylicious to tone it down but still keep the pink tones.

For the other parts of the Penguin, i.e. the wand and beak, I used Copic markers in Y28, R46 and YR18. I also applied Nuvo Shimmer to the trim pieces of his hat, his boots, and his beak.

I also added the red to his cheeks as he is skating outside after all! It is a chilly day in my pretend world of skating!

To finish up I propped him up on foam rounds and inserted the device that allows the legs to skate, then tested his skating abilities!

On the inside of the card I added a piece of the embossing folder, trimmed with a black strip of the Gina K. Designs cardstock then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair in Nocturne.

Thank you for visiting with me today.

See you next time.
