Watercolour Hummingbird

This is for today's challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com which I am hosting. I picked this video for the challenge today.

I am using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper, which is a mistake for this kind of painting. Alas I am out of my usual Arches cold press watercolour paper.

The reason I say that is that I found the Fabriano dried very fast, to the point it was impossible to keep it damp. Most unusual but today's weather is just one of those warmer kind of days.

So I worked with what I had and tried my best to get the colours moving. I look forward to trying this using Arches paper when I get it.

I used Daniel Smith watercolours in many different colours for this painting.

When complete I added splatters of some of the different colouors I used. My card base and matting is Gina K Design Ocean Mist.

Thank you for visiting.
