Watercolour Backgrounds

Hello to all! It is that time of the week when I show my sample cards for the Watercolour Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. This week we are using stamps with our watercolour, as we are concentrating on backgrounds.

Tall and narrow backgrounds, with colours you love. I picked blue and green for my cards, but you can pick any colour that suits your style. The colours I used are Daniel Smith colours, Amazonite Genuine, Phthalo Blue (Green Shade), Indanthrone Blue, Mayan Blue Genuine, Cobalt Blue and Ultramarine Turquoise for the blues. The greens are Sap Green, Cascade Green, Phthalo Green (Yellow Shade), and Serpentine Genuine.
I made a total of 4 backgrounds, but of course you can make as many as you wish. I cut a piece of Arches cold press 140lb watercolour 5x10 inches. I then taped off sections around the card using Meeden Artist tape.

I then added my colours. I did not pay too much attention to the colours I used, but I can say, as most of you know already, I am not a "dark" colour kind of girl! I want colour in my world, which means bright beautiful colour to me - lol!

I stamped the leaves using VersaFine Clair inks in Twilight, Nocturne, Warm Breeze and Fantasia. For the card I made above, I stamped the sentiment using Nocturne, and die cut using the coordinating die.

The leaves and floral stamps are by Altenew, the Leaves are Freeform Greenery, and the Flower is Wild Hibiscus. The sentiment if by Honey Bee Stamps called Dragonfly.

Thanks so much for visiting today.

See you next time.
