Beautiful Leaf

Meet "Beautiful Leaf".

This card I have done for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. I am hosting today's challenge and have picked a Pinterest site for us today for Jodi McKee.
My inspiration for this card came from this table setting. Instead of the pink I used peach tones as accents for my leaf.

To start this card I first did the hot foiling using the hot foil leaf along with gold foil. I don't know if it was because my foil was a few years old or what, but I had an awful time getting a good foil. I never have these problems, so I was a bit ticked after all was said and done.
I then moved on to applying the inks using the layering stencil. I did not have a plan, I simply added colour where I wanted. It was fun and I think it worked out.

To finish the leaf I die cut it using the coordinating die.
Using Shabby Shutters I applied a light coating of ink to my card front in a oval design. I then attached the leaf using foam squares, and attached the sentiment using glue and foam squares.

For the sentiment in my mini Misti I stamped the sentiments for the outside and inside of the card using Pigment Craft Co. Monstera ink.
In finishing my card for today I added a few Studio Katia gems in gold. On the inside of the card, using a piece of cardstock I stamped the leaf with mowed lawn, then attached the sentiment on thin foam squares to finish.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card. Following are Affiliate links for the products I have used today, at no extra cost to you.

  1. The colors are so natural looking; I can think of a lot of leaves that look exactly like this. I also like the sentiment and how it's cut out.
