Winter Crystal

Meet "Winter Crystal".

Photographing mirror cardstock is difficult needless to say, but I did my best with this card. The cobalt blue mirror card is so beautiful, it is hard to do it justice.
I ran the blue mirror card through my Gemini Jr. using the Sizzix embossing folder, which I really like with all the different looks and sizes of snowflakes, and attached it to the front of my Neenah cardbase.

Moving on to the snowflake, I die cut the top snowflake twice, gluing them wrong sides together. The reason I did that is because I wanted to ensure there was not any other colours picked up in the papers, like the back of the glossy cardstock.
I then die cut the second part of the die using vellum 40lb., and the third part of the die using the metallic holographic cardstock.

The vellum is attached to the glossy snowflake, but not to the metallic, so it hangs just by the ribbon. The metallic is glued down to the front of the card.
I attached the two piece snowflake to a piece of ribbon, which I hung from the top of the card, opening up the seam and pushing the ribbon in, then adding more adhesive and closing the seam.

I hope these close up shots give you a better idea of the details in the embossing and the snowflake.
I decided against anything further on the card front. I like the look it has as is, hence the sentiment will be inside the card, a Merry Christmas die cut in the blue mirror card. The inside has a piece of the mirror card then a white piece of Neenah card, followed by the die cut sentiment.
