Meet "Santa Baby".
It is Friday night and that means it is time for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. Today we are visiting The Jolly Christmas Shop. My inspiration came from this picture.
I have always loved the Bird Crazy set by Stampers Anonymous and finally broke down and bought the set, along with the "Things" set which includes the present, Santa Hat etc.
In my mini Misti I stamped the Bird, Present, Candy Cane and Santa Hat using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, and proceeded to colour the items with Copic markers.
My Copic colours are as follows: Bird is Y18, Y15, Y13; Present and bow is RV11, RV14 and R32; Santa Hat R27 and R29; Candy Cane R29 and white gel pen; Eyes BG07; Beak YR07.
There are not coordinating dies for these stamps, so I ran the stamped images through my Scan'n Cut to cut out.
I wanted fur for the trim on the Santa Hat so I used Tim Holtz Frosted Crystal but did not heat emboss it. I applied Nuvo adhesive and sprinkled the crystal on the area, pressed it in firmly, then gave a shake to get the excess off. There were two spots that did not cover, hence a row of tiny pearls.
For my background I used the Faded Poinsettia stencil along with Barn Door oxide ink. Once the stenciling was completed I sprayed the piece with a mixture of Gold Perfect Pearls and water.
I then arranged the pieces and attached them to my card using foam squares and added a few more red pearls from my stash.
I have reloaded these pictures as last night in the middle of the night I woke with a start thinking "you forgot to add the sentiment"! Honest - that really happened. So, added the sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps using Memento Ink with the "Merry" in Catherine Pooler Cranberry.
