Line and Wash

This is "Line and Wash".

That explains the technique, not the name of the flower! lol It is Tuesday which means it is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers.com.

Our hostess this week is Linda and she has chosen today's video.
I had to do this painting in a hurry today as I have been running late all day and finally got to the painting at 4:00. I don't like it when I don't give myself enough time.

I am working on a piece of Arches cold press watercolour paper which is 8x6 inches. I taped off the edges at .5 inches on all sides, for future framing. My brush is a Escoda #6.

The flowers are done using Winsor Newton Permanent Rose and Daniel Smith Opera Pink. The leaves are done with Daniel Smith Cadmium Yellow, Winsor Newton Sap Green and Schmincke May Green.

For the vase I used Daniel Smith Phthalo Blue (Green Shade) along with Daniel Smith Ultramarine Blue on the left side. The dirt is done using Daniel Smith Jane's Grey, and the shadow is done using Daniel Smith Ultramarine Blue.

The line work was done using a Micron Black ultra fine pen.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you enjoy this watercolour.
