Hello Friend

Let me introduce "Hello Friend".

Today's card I have done for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com. I am hosting this week's challenge and have picked BabaSouk for the Inspiration Site.

You can view their pinterest boards here, and my inspiration piece here.

For my card I am using the new Memory Box Gentle Blossom, along with the sentiment, also from Memory Box.
Starting with the flower and leaves I first did some smooshing on a A2 size piece of cardstock. To apply the inks I used a piece of the plastic packaging that wraps a new stamp set.

I put down the inks one at a time, spritzed with water, then picked up the colur with the plastic piece, transferring it to my card piece.

For the flowers I used Wild Honey, Scattered Straw, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and ended with the Saltwater Taffy.

For the leaves I used Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness and Salvaged Patina.
Once I had all the colours applied I die cut the flower pieces and the leaves. I then die cut the sentiment "Hello Friend" top piece using Neenah card x 3. For the shadow, I die cut one piece and sponged on the Salvaged Patina.

With all the cutting done it was time to put the card together. I started by dry embossing a piece of Neenah card using my Quilted embossing folder for the front of the card. For the inside of the card, I inked the embossing folder with the Saltwater Taffy before running it through my Gemini Jr., then glued it to the inside of the card.
I glued the white embossed piece to the front of my card, then applied in a oval area the Salvaged Patina, which I kept lighter than the shadow piece.

I styled the flower and flower parts as well as the leaves using my stylist, then attached the flower to the card using foam squares. I glued the leaf bits together and attached around the flower using foam squares and glue.
To finish up I glued the top portion of the sentiment to the shadow piece, then glued it to the card. I then added a few gems from Studio Katia.

I have a few more ideas for this flower, which I will share with you in the coming weeks. Thank you for dropping by today.
