Susurrous Autumn

Susurrous Autumn. When sitting out at night I love the sound of falling leaves when they sound like whispers in the night air.

This is what I wanted to achieve when I started this card, and I kept adding leaves until the scene made me happy, and it does.Albeit, autumn is a bit slow this year, I keep waiting for the magic to appear.

I did the background first using Color Burst colours in reds and oranges. I wanted it dark so the leaves would pop off the background.
I then put down several different colours of Color Burst to use for my leaf die cutting making a couple of sets of the leaves.

Once the background was dry I splattered with Midas Touch Pen and Guoache, letting that dry. I then die cut the piece with my Penny Black die and glued it in place. I then stamped the sentiment using VersaMark embossing ink and heat embossed with Nuvo powder.
I then started attaching the leaves, building as I went along. Some are glued, while others are on foam squares.

When making the background and the leaves I was using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper which is not as thick as cold press paper and forms easier. But, I still needed a few leaves and did not want to make more of the Color Burst so I used card paper from another application I did, throwing in a bit of that teal.
I like the addition of the bits of teal to the final card, and I hope you do as well.
