Fly

I have had this background sitting on my desk for ages it seems. I keep moving it, but never doing anything with it, until today.

The background is done via a roller which I ran through a puddle of distress inks and cleaned off on a piece of cardstock, this piece. I then sprinkled a bit of  Ultramarine Color Burst down on the mat and pounced the card into the mix.

I decided to keep it clean and simple, so I first die cut the background piece with my pierced rectangles die. I then die cut the Dragonfly in white, and the shadow using vellum.

I positioned the dragonfly where I wanted it on the card then attached the alpha dies for the word FLY and ran through my Gemini Jr. I then die cut 3 white FLY and 1 black FLY.

To put it together I applied Scorpal tape behind the FLY on the back of the card, then applied glue to the balance of the card back and adhered to my white base.

Using Lawn Fawn glue stick I glued in place the black FLY, then the 3 white, topping with the print FLY.

With a piece of foam strip I attached the vellum Dragonfly, then glued in place the white Dragonfly. The think white piece of foam is hidden under the white of the Dragonfly.

I considered adding a few sequins, but decided against that idea. I like that the background is doing all the work.
