Arbors

Hello all! It is Friday evening and time to upload this card to Splitcoaststampers for the Inspiration Challenge. I am hosting the challenge this week and have made a Pinterest Board called Roundscape Art, for this. This as my inspiration.

I made the board when I came upon round pieces of Art, hence the name. What I would like is for the focal part of the cards to be in the circle, then they can embellish as I have done on the card front.

I used my die to measure out the circle, using the outside circumference of the die. Then using Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper I painted half the circle in the yellow, and the other half in blue, nixing the pink altogether. The yellow is Hansa Yellow and Quinacridone Gold. The blue side is Cobalt Blue and Phthalo Blue (Green Shade).

I set aside the piece to dry and in the mean time die cut the layered leaves, and trimmed them to where I wanted them to sit on the card. I then painted the leaves using the blues and yellows.

Moving back to the circle and in my mini Misti I inked up the Arbor stamp with the VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. In order to cover the background I did probably 4 or 5 passes, until I was happy with the results.

For the splatters I used the blue and yellow watercolours, along with white Gouache, covering the trees with a paper cut out that I made when I was figuring out what parts of the stamp I wanted to use.

Once I was done stamping the trees I affixed the watercolour panel to the front of my Neenah White card base. I then cut a piece of black card slightly smaller than the card base, and after measuring I die cut the circle, then attached foam tape to the back of the black card and attaching it to the white card.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder and white pigment ink sponged around the edges. Using the Lawn Fawn glue I then attached the layered leaves.

It felt out of balance to me, so I attached the two gems from Studio Katia, and I then felt better. Sometimes all you need is a little sparkle!

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used on this card, at no extra cost to you.
