Now that I have finished with the business of the day, lets get back to the card I made for the hop.

I decided I wanted a distress background, which is where I started. Using watercolour paper I sprayed the piece with water. I then sprayed the inks on my craft mat and spritzed again with water. To apply the inks to my watercolour card I used my Ranger ink blending tool with foam and applied, going in circles for coverage. I did this with both the Peacock Feathers Spray and the Picked Raspberry.

I do not have the Twisted Citron spray as of yet, so I used my Oxide ink pad, putting down a lot of the colour and spritzed it with water, then applied it to the watercolour piece with another Ranger ink blender. While still wet I added a liberal dose of Perfect Pearls mixed with water.

The watercolour piece I made was a large 7 x 7 inch piece of Fabriano Hot Press, as I wanted to be sure I had enough for my die cutting of the circles, which I did once it was dry.

For the background piece I then did smooshing using the same colours on a piece of Neenah cardstock, and when dry ran it through my Gemini Jr. using an embossing folder. I then added splatters of Gouche, Perfect Pearls and water.

I then die cut the watercolour background I made using my stitched circle dies along with the Hugs die from Poppystamps. I then painted on to the outside piece some Nuvo Shimmer in Rosette. Next I cut 4 pieces of the hugs, they are all a different colour, but I liked the lighter version for my top layer and glued them together.

I die cut the Hedge Hugs from white card and coloured them using Copic markers.

To put it all together I used a Gina K Design Ivory cardstock for my card base. I added matting in a deeper blue, then added the smooshed embossed background.

I then attached the first two pieces of the circle die cuts using Nuvo Adhesive. I failed to mention that when I die cut the circles I also splattered the main circle piece with Gouache, then attached it using foam squares. I then glued on the sentiment, and attached the little Hedgies using foam squares.

To finish I added sequins and to some of the sequins I added small gum drops.

The embossing folder is called Regency Swirls and it is the embossing folder that came with my Gemini Jr. machine.

I do hope you have enjoyed today's card and wish to thank you for your visit. Up next on the hop is Lindsey.
