Blooms

Hello to you today! I took yesterday off and celebrated my birthday instead! CC and I had cake, as we are still in semi lockdown. I hope you had a great day too.

My card today I have done for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. We visited a Pinterest page by Bella Ella Boutique, and my inspiration was this picture.

I loved the colours in the scene which I tried to capture in my flowers.

Using my mini Misti I first stamped the image using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne on Arches cold press watercolour paper. I stamped the image off centre and falling slightly off the page. I then die cut the card using Paper Rose'

Following my inspiration picture, I used a transparent orange to watercolour the flowers, with Naples Yellow in the centre. I had three puddles of the transparent Pyrrol Orange I was water colouring from, one being heavy with colour, the second being medium with colour and the third being very light.

For the leaves I used two colours, one being Jadeite Genuine and the other being Cascade Green. These are two of my favourite green colours, so I tend to use them often.

To the centre of the flowers I added more of the Naples Yellow to brighten up the centre a bit more.
Once I was finished and all was dry I then painted around the image using a light was of Amazonite Genuine.

On my card base, using my stencil  I added Salvaged Patina Distress Ink along the edges then attached the watercolour panel to the card base.

To finish up I stamped a simple sentiment as I plan to give this card to one of the girls in the group that I will be meeting in the park in a couple of weeks.

This is such a pretty image and was a joy to watercolour. I love the larger flowers for this reason.

Thank you for joining me today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
