When It Snows

It is time for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. I love this challenge and if you have not checked it out I would highly recommend it. Today could not be a better day to start.

We are visiting a Pinterest site that is all about Doors. I picked this pin for inspiration. Although I do not have the same amount of snow, I do have snow falling lightly, and bits of snow that has gathered on leaves and pieces of the tree barks using Bleed Proof White paint.

To add the initial colour, in my original Misti I painted the stamp with my watercolours. I do this by first applying a layer of VersaMark embossing ink. This ensure the watercolour adheres to the rubber stamp and spreads as painted, instead of bubbling up in one place. I then spritz the stamp before pressing it on to the watercolour paper. I hold it for a bit, as this is Arches 140ln watercolour card which has a texture to it.

Once I had most of my watercolour down I finished the water colouring, adding more paint as required. I added in some highlights in the blue and pink along with the extra touches of Sap Green.

Using the Bleed Proof white watercolour I added the snow with my paint brush to the wood pieces and some of the leaves, then did small splatters of the white representing a light snowfall.

To finish up I trimmed the card so I would have a tiny piece of the card base showing and attached using foam tape.

As it turns out I have had this stamp for quite awhile and never got around to painting it. I have a few of those which I am slowly going through to make sure they see some love.

I hope you have enjoyed today's card and I wish to thank you for your visit.
