Snow Much Fun

The Inspiration Challenge for today is at a great site called River Bend Home, where there is much to inspire. For some reason however, my mojo has taken a hike. I spent a lot of time looking through the site and was coming up empty.

I thought it might help if I sat at my desk. There I had a piece of watercolour paper, already cut out, which is the one you see above. I had my Aqua pens to the left of me, and a clean glass of water at the top right side.

So I picked up a brush and started to lay down colours from the pens, then pick up the colours and started drawing circles. I had not a clue what I was doing, so I just kept painting circles.

As I was painting I let the colours bleed and when I got to the bottom left side I stopped. I kind of looked at it, and thought it needs something else. I painted the white space left with the yellows, both from the Aqua pen along with Roman Szmal Nickel Azo Yellow, then added snow using my Bleed Proof watercolour. I also splattered using the Red Aqua Flow Pen.

It took me a bit to like it, and now I love it. Go figure! But what to add to it? I remembered this set from Crafters Companion that I just received and thought the snowman skiing would work perfectly.

For the snowman I stamped on Arches Cold Press watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. Then to watercolour the snowman I painted with Kuretake Gansai in Pearl White, adding in hints of  the Pearl Cobalt Blue on the snowman along with the skis. Once dry I went over everything with Nuvo Glitter Gloss. I painted the scarf using the red Aqua Pen and the No Bleed white paint.

To put the card together in my mini Misti I positioned where the snowman would be and stamped my sentiment again using the VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. I then added the panel to a Gina K. Design red cardbase and attached the snowman using foam tape.

Still thinking I need more sparkle, I sprayed the entire piece with my White Perfect Pearls solution that I have mixed with water. I wish you could see it, it is ever so pretty.

When I started I did not have a clue what I wanted to do, but at this point I am happy with where the circles took me. I guess there are times you just have to sit down and pick something up.

I hope you have enjoyed this card today and thank you for visiting my blog.
