Its A Jungle Out There

When I got up this morning, with coffee in hand I sat down to look at the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. When I saw the site for today, called Stuffed Safari I decided I would use this new Hero Arts stamp that I received earlier this week. Sorry to all the pets on that site, but I was in the mood for colouring and leaves.

It would be nice to watercolour this stamp, but I decided to use Copics for this card. I picked colours of fall as we are heading into the best season in my humble opinion. Greens, yellows, oranges, reds and blues along with some light teals.

I am not at all happy with my sentiment, and will probably end up applying another layer on top of the two that are there, and colour using the greens. That I think will stand out from the card.

I started with the greens, using YG06, YG07 and G14. As I usually do, I started with the YG06 up to the G14, then come back down using YG07 and ending with YG06. I have used this method on all of the flowers and leaves, but not the background.

I moved on to the Yellows, using Y13, Y15, Y18.  Oranges are Y38, YR04, YR09. Reds R02, R05 and R17. Violets are RV10, RV63 and RV66. Teals BG11, BG23, BG34 and finally the blues, being B12, B21 and B24.

That is a lot of colouring, and I find that I end up with a sore neck from leaning forward when I colour with Copics. So a coffee break, then I moved to the background.

I tried a few colours first, mostly darker blues, but I did not like them. I tried grey colours, not! I ended up picking a very dark colour R59.

I quite like the darkness of the R59 shade, which is called Cardinal. It is very rich, and it shows on the card that it is rich. Unfortunately not so much in the pictures except a bit in the third picture.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed today's card. I sure did enjoy the colouring.

Thank you for your visit. Following are Affiliate Links for the products I used for this card today, including all the Copic colours.
