Abstract Gilding

I am playing in the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today. where we had a visit to a site called Chairish.
There was much to inspire, but in the end I picked this piece of abstract art.

I started with a piece of acrylic mixed media paper cut to 5 inches square., then with a smallish paint brush I applied the layers of paint, changing the colours as I went. I used various paints from Vicki Boutin to Dina Wakley.
Once the paint was dry I began adding the gold flakes by applying glue first to the area I wanted the flakes, allowing it to become tacky, then applying the flakes. I used my Clarity brush that had not been used for anything to dust the flakes off once dry.
I will give the piece a few days to dry completely, then I will distress it somewhat and bend it, then mount it in a shadow box to display. It is another piece of my Art added to my walls, and that makes me happy. I have already ordered the frame - lol
Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you have enjoyed this piece.
