Birthday Candles

Hello! I am happy to say I am guest designing for July with the CAS Mix Up Challenge which is to use Stencil Tracing. This is one of my favourite cards I must say. It was fun to make and I love the blues, that also have hints of purple.

On Yupo Paper I used Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks in Sailboat Blue and Indigo, along with Blending Solution for my background. The inks get to a point where they are just tacky, which is when I add the deco foil, using gold foil for this card. I then wait for the piece to dry entirely.

Using my stay-tion I lay the stencil on top of the Yupo background and proceed to trace the stencilled parts. First I used my EK Success Calligraphy Pen in gold, then went around the gold pen with my Micron Pen in Navy.

I attached the Yupo to Neenah cardstock, then cut a thin piece of gold glitter paper for the trim. Under the trim I stamped the birthday sentiment using the Happy Birthday from the Altenew Stamp set along with VersaFine Clair Ink in Paradise.

Thank you for the Invite Loll, I had fun making this card.

And thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you too have enjoyed this card.

  12. Love those rich blues (my favourite colour!) - and the bits of gold foil are a great contrast and added texture. Fabulous stencil tracing with both the gold and navy pens.
