My Dear Friend

It is time for Watercolour Wednesday at Splitcoaststampers, and this is my sample card. We are continuing to cover the basics of watercolour, with this challenge covering the use of Dye Ink Pads to watercolour. I used Wendy Vecchi's Make Art Inks for my card.

The flower is from Altenew, the beautiful Peony Bouquet. Again, I am bringing to life one of my older stamp sets. While it is always fun to get new products, it is also nice to remember what I already have too.

On my card base I decided on some stencilling with Texture Paste. The stencil is from A Colorful Life Design. I placed the stencil on an angle to change the appearance and applied the texture paste with my palette knife. When I was ready to smooth the paste I ran my knife in the left over Red Geranium ink on my work surface which gave the faint ink left on the paste.

For the flower I decided on Buttercup, Poppy, Tiger Lily and Red Geranium. For the leaves I am using Prickly Pear and Leaf Green.

To begin in my mini Misti I stamped the flower using Make Art Poppy and the leaves using Make Art Leaf Green.

I started to paint with the Buttercup, then dried, moved to the Poppy dropping in the Tiger Lily and blending out, dried, then finished with shadows using the Red Geranium. After all the ink was dried I then went over the flower with Buttercup, which brightens everything up. I did the same for the leaves.

I die cut the flower and leaves and affixed to my card using foam squares. I then stamped my sentiment from a Penny Black set using Ranger Vermilion ink and cut it down, affixing with foam squares. To finish up I added a scattering of gems.

Thank you for joining me today. Following are Affiliate Links for the products that I have used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
