Hooray

The inspiration site at Splitcoaststampers is a cute place located overseas called Fudge and Mable. They have the cutest animals you have ever seen made from felting wool. My inspiration for this card came from balls of felting in these colours.

Starting with my bird, which is from Picket Fence Studios called Pretty Birds, I stamped the image on Fabriano Hot Press 140lb watercolour paper using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. I am loving this set, but anything birds I love. I want to send this to a friend who could use a smile, and I think this will do the trick.

Using Daniel Smith and Schmincke watercolours I painted the bird in bright yellow and greens with a pinch of pink. Once the bird was dry I did some fussy cutting to cut him out. I then went around the edges with a black marker.

Moving on to my background, and using my stencil called Big Fonds from A Colorful Life Designs, I did some water colouring with a semi dry brush, first with a pale yellow, then over it again with a bright green. Once dry I die cut the piece then sponged on Fossilized Amber Oxide Ink. I then splattered with water.

The panel did not look good on a white card base so I switched it out for a darkish yellow base. In my mini Misti I then stamped my sentiment using VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink ... such gorgeous ink.

I finished my card with a few gumdrops using colours that are in the bird.

Don't forget when shopping at A Colorful Life Designs use my coupon code Kia10.

I hope you have enjoyed this card, and I hope my friend will as well. Thank you for joining me today. Following are affiliate links to the products that I have used on this card, first being USA links, and beside those Canadian links.
