Thinking of you

For today's card I have departed from my normal A2 size card and gone way back to my roots, when all I did was 5.5 square cards.
The stencil I used for this card just spoke to me in 5.5 inch, to show the beauty of the stencil.
We have also come along in how we work with stencils, but for this card, again I went back to the beginning when stencilling with paste was the thing, now we have glitter too! We have all kinds of mediums that make beautiful cards with a stencil.
This card is going to an old friend who has just had surgery and I know she will appreciate the sparkle and the design of the stencil.
I placed the stencil on my 5 inch square piece of cardstock and taped down to hold in place. Starting with the yellow glitter paste I did the centre part of the stencil, then finished stencilling with the white glitter. The white glitter has a blue undertone to it, so I stamped the sentiment using a turquoise ink from Wendy Vecchi.
I matted the "thinking of" sentiment with more white card stock, and stamped and die cut the "you" and attached with foam squares.
To finish I added a few crystal gems, which still keeps the card clean and simple, but adds a bit of glam for my friend.

I am also entering this card in the CAS April Stencil Challenge with hopes that it is CAS enough - lol!

Thank you for visiting today.

  3. Gorgeous shine and glitter on your stenciled image covered with glimmer paste, Kia. I love how you went back and added the yellow to the center of the stencil. It looks like a beautiful shiny, glittery flower. Wonderful die cut sentiment to finish off your CAS design. TFS my friend. Hugs..Nancy
