This is "for my Friend" which I did as my sample for the Clean an Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today. But I also had someone in mind to send it to as well.
The top of the card looks bent, but it is not, it is the way the light is hitting the glossy card stock. To start this card I did an alcohol ink background on Yupo paper. I held my paper at an angle, poured some blending solution from the top and let it slide down the paper, then added the colours, starting with the aqua in the middle, salmon to the left and sandal on the right. Once dry I attached the piece to my card base.
I then cut a piece of gloss card stock, die cut the negative friend, and die cut the bottom of the piece. I glued the glossy paper at the top and added foam squares along the rest of it. I stamped the sentiment on the die cut piece and glued it on through the open negative part. I then stamped the remaining sentiment, and added a few gumdrops to finish..
I admit, I am happy at how it turned out. It was a fun card to make.
