I was thinking bees when I decided I would use this image on my card for the Scrap'n Stamp Blog post today. In searching for different bees from ours here in Canada I came upon this picture of a beautiful bee. I opted to use the blue and brown from the picture, and as bees bring us such beauty with the pollination I opted for a head full of pretty flower colours, representing the flowers.
I painted the bee with Zig Clean Color Brushes, and once done I painted the wings and the head flowers with Clear Wink of Stella.
My background represents the sunshine the bees bring us from the flowers, hence the yellow and light orange clouds, done using MFT's Clouds stencil and distress oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade and die cut with Penny Black's Stitched Stackers Die set.
I die cut from 36lb vellum 2 circles in different sizes using MFT Stitched Circles die. I then stamped the sentiment on the smaller circle using Ranger Archival Manganese Blue ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then attached the vellum circles using vellum tape.
I then styled and attached my image using foam squares and added a few gumdrops to finish.
I hope you have enjoyed this card and wish to thank you for visiting today. Following is my video showing this card, then my affiliate links to the products I used today at no extra cost to you.

  1. Aloha, Kia. I love your card, the painting and your style. Thank you for such a lovely video! You have such a pleasing voice and your recording is nice and peaceful without all the loudness and jump cuts that so many add. I pay attention to how people speak and your modulation and pitch, enunciation - all of it was like a gentle rolling brook! Anyway, it was super pleasant to stop by here. Thank you again for such a sweet card design!
