Wings & Roots

One thing I very much look forward to is the colours of spring and some, sure to arrive soon, and of course, butterflies and dragonflies.
I love this stencil from A Colorful Life called Loopy Flower. I did the stencil mono-print technique with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade. I used Ranger Distress Watercolour paper, which adds a lot of texture to the stencil design.
I did load the stencil up with ink before spritzing to be sure it would transfer given the roughness of the paper, and I gave it plenty of time to transfer. Once I lifted the stencil, I filled in a bit with my water colour brush, adding blooms for more interest.
Once the panel was dry I die cut it using my Elegant Stitching die from Penny Black, and in my MISTI I stamped the sentiment using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. I die cut the dragon fly, and laid it on the card. One thing I have learned of late is to look through my camera first if I am not sure of something. My view showed me this could not remain white as I intended, so I coloured the inside wings using my Copic #RV14, leaving the rest in the white.
To finish I added a few crystals.

Thank you for joining me today. I have provided Affiliate Links below to the products I have used on this card.
