I have an easy and fun card to share with you today using a new to me stencil as my focal.
When I stencil I use my Origianl Misti, and hold everything down with the magnets. I tape the cardstock to the Misti from the underside to ensure the paper does not move.
I started this card by brushing on the ink colours with my Clarity Brushes using the Deep Iris from the Ink Set, covering both the candles and the cake parts of the stencil. Once I was finished with the ink stenciling, I used my Kuretake Zig Gold Pen to colour in the flame of the candles.
Once the colour was finished I went over the entire stencil with Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone and set aside to dry. Using the gold glitter cardstock I die cut the "happy" part of the sentiment. For the word "birthday", I used a smaller sentiment from a stamp set and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, trimming the piece to fit under the happy die.
I finished by adding a dark purple matting and attaching to a medium purple card base. I glued on the happy and attached the birthday sentiment with a thin foam square.
Thanks so much for joining me today.
This is so pretty, Kia! I love this shade of purple! The Nuvo glimmer paste is so pretty and perfect for the occasion.
